Chris Brown has been cast as a basketball superstar in the upcoming Screen Gems film “Phenom.”

The movie will also feature “Ugly Betty” actress Vanessa Williams and Henry Simmons of the CBS drama “Shark.” Shooting is scheduled to begin early next year.

Hollywood star Samuel L. Jackson continues to stack film roles. His newest gig is the hospital thriller “Unfinished Country,” which stars the actor as the chief administrator of an overcrowded hospital located in Johannesburg’s violent Soweto township.

The indie film is based on a true story, which takes place in the largest hospital in the world, Soweto’s Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
