TMZ.COM and klan are reporting that Will Smith said that Hitler was a ‘good’ person. When in fact Will Smith did not say that at all. Here is the piece of the original article:
Remarkably, Will believes everyone is basically good. “Even Hitler didn’t wake up going, ‘let me do the most evil thing I can do today’,” said Will. “I think he woke up in the morning and using a twisted, backwards logic, he set out to do what he thought was ‘good’. Stuff like that just needs reprogramming. “I wake up every day full of hope, positive that every day is going to be better than yesterday. And I’m looking to infect people with my positivity. I think I can start an epidemic.”

What is wrong with so many people? They are dissecting his words and inserting others. Will Smith is saying that Hitler, very much like the White Supremacists, really, really thought thought that what he was doing was right. Just like slave owners thought that whipping their slaves to within an inch of their lives was right, or tearing up families, or raping young boys and girls (sometimes while the families stood by and could do nothing to stop it). These people really thought that they were right. It was even allowable by the law of the times. But did that make it right? No. Just as Hitler doing what he thought was right (ethnic cleansing, purifying the race) was as wrong as wrong could be. Will Smith is a very intelligent man and he is normally quite articulate. Perhaps someone with an agenda has made sure to present his words in a manner that would insure controversy. Why? Perhaps because he is the biggest box office hit and his movies are bonafide money-makers? From slavery to Freedom. We’ve come a long way Will Smith…and you are proof!!!
