With a recently closed 3year first look deal with Lionsgate, PLUS The release of “The Family That Preys” (September 12, 2008), PLUS national syndication and another 100th episode commitment from TBS for “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” EQUALS cha-ching $$$$. I guess he can buy his empire outright—hello!!
Perry is well on his way to enlarging his own black Hollywood right in Atlanta, Georgia. By this October, he will establish his own studio complex: 5 soundstages, a back lot and 200,000 square feet of office space.
This 38 year old cross- dresser is currently paid $15 million for writing, acting, producing and directing –Talk about your ‘Jack of All Trades.’ In addition, Perry receives 15 % of first dollar gross and 50 % of ancillary revenue. With owning all of his work-a rarity among most in Hollywood- Tyler pocketed $125 million, last year alone. The Hollywood Reporter is calling his success, “The Power of Perry” stamping him as one of the most elusive moguls in the Entertainment Industry.
