RIHANNA: GOOD GIRL GONE BROKE!
So the rumor that is making its way to all the bloggers today is that Rihanna is BROKE AS ALL HE*LL!
Rihanna’s now ex-business manager Patricia Willliams has been recently fired as she says “for no good reason, all in ignorance” and is “livid” with Rihanna & her management company Rebel One’s decision to fire her. Rihanna recently met with her ex-biz manager to check on her funds and was shocked to see that almost all her money was missing. Rih-Rih instantly accused Willliams of “stealing her money.”
It’s not my fault that she only has $20,000 to her name.”
She adds -
“I’m a professional Business Manager, I have a staff of more than a dozen, I have worked for many high profile actors, musicians and multi-million dollar corporations. Why would I steal from Rihanna?” She continues, “I showed her all the paperwork and tried to explain to her the circumstances but she wouldn’t listen. She called me all sorts of horrible names and stormed off. I now feel compelled to share with the world the background story as I will not allow my name to be slandered”The Barbados born singer has had four back-to-back albums, including a re-release since her debut of “Pon De Replay” in 2005.According to Willliams, Marc Jordan, manager and owner of Rebel One Management has been taking care of Rihanna’s financial situation with her.
“Def Jam doesn’t fund Rihanna properly, so Marc uses the money Rihanna makes from third-party endorsements and from tours to fund her album and music videos.” Since 2005, Rihanna has been sponsored by the likes of JC Penny, Samsung, Covergirl, Secret, Venus Breeze etc,. and has gone on two major tours, most recently label-mate Kanye West’s “Glow in the Dark” Tour and with Pussy Cat Dolls across Europe.”I don’t want to disrespect Marc’s name. He is a fantastic manager and genuinely believes in Rihanna. But he uses her money to fund her future projects because he believes he can break her in the world-market. Her album sales are not nearly as close to her single sales and he knows that if she is only known as a ’singles artist’ she will only be as good as her last hit. Unfortunately, he didn’t inform his client and I’m receiving the brunt of it.”Why is Def Jam lacking in funding support for there act? Why was so much money spent? How much exactly? Williams continues,”Her record label Def Jam has put out 3 albums in a time span of 2 years.

Alot of that was orchestrated through her management Rebel One. It was never Def Jam’s intention to release so many albums back-to-back but Marc Jordan found loop holes and ways to make it happen.A lot of the money Rihanna made through her endorsements between CoverGirl Cosmetics, Samsung.. Notice that majority of Rihanna’s videos have a cell phone in it?”"After the release of Rihanna and Teairra Mari, Def Jam had intention to drop both acts because their album sales were not successful. Her manager fought to get [S.O.S (Rescue Me)] and quickly tried to negotiate with as many companies as possible. Nike picked up the song and funded a video. This brought the hype back for Rihanna in the company’s New York office. Majority of the official ‘S.O.S’ video was funded by Samsung because the record label was only willing to put up a small amount. Once ‘S.O.S’ picked up digitally and at radio, Def Jam agreed to fund the rest of her album. Jordan instantly got a video shot to ‘Unfaithful’ (he negotiated with video director Anthony Mandler to drop his price and would be given more videos from Rihanna in return). Then they shot ‘We Ride’ which was an extremely cheap video to create. ‘Break It Off’ was released as a third album, but again, Def Jam was unhappy with the sales of her album “A Girl Like Me” and refused to shoot a video.

At this point Rihanna was opening up for the Pussy Cat Doll’s in Europe. She was making 30,000 a show but she didn’t see any of that money because it was needed to fund her next album.” Which is now known to the greater public as a ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’.”The song “Umbrella” was found & Jordan fought again for Rihanna to have it. They shot the video, which CoverGirl funded half of, and the song became a success. When the record label had there meeting with Music Stores across the U.S to order her album for shipment, the number’s weren’t coming in the way that they expected. When the album’s first week numbers came in at less than 150,000, the label was shocked. Def Jam’s President LA Reid was livid! Umbrella was #1 for 11 weeks! Any other artist would have sold way more first week. T-Pain even did better in sales than her that week. Def Jam told Jordan they were no longer funding the album, so Jordan needed money again to pay for music videos ‘Shut Up & Drive’ and ‘Dont Stop The Music’. Almost 250,000 was spent to have those videos created. Plus, an additional 120,000 to shoot ‘Hate That I Love You’. Jordan was noticing that ‘Dont Stop The Music’ was picking up, so her persuaded the label to support it at radio in the U.S and the remaining singles, and they did.”"Then came for the repackaging of her album ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’, which is called ‘Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded’, that entire project was funded through Rihanna’s money.
‘Take A Bow’ was bought through her money, the video was created with her money and so is her most recent video and single ‘Disturbia’. The label didn’t even want to pay a dime for anything! Close to 750,000 was spent on those two songs alone. And now she expects to see money in her account?” Williams states that Jordan, her publicist from well-respected public relations firm 42-West, Alicia Silverman has built alot of hype around Rihanna’s name but the singer has only made “a little bit above a million” and “all of it was spent on making her as big as she is now.

I found your site on Google and read a few of your other entires. Nice Stuff. I’m looking forward to reading more from you.

Thanks for posting the article, was certainly a great read!
August 18th, 2008 at 9:39 pm
Broke! Damn…need to stop all that vacationing!
August 19th, 2008 at 5:35 am
Do you guys remember there was an information that the Shut Up & Drive video costed more than 500.000 $? And they say 250.000 $ for SU&D and DSTM together?
Then she sold 150k in the first week but they forgot about Europe and the rest of the world. Her sales are at 5 million wolrdwide right now and she’s broke? And her GGGB Reloaded is in the Top 10 of the BB 200 chart again. It’s so FAKE.
+ Who would write so much information. They have mentioned every single, every album, every tour, just everything. It’s like a fan or a hater wrote that.
and don’t you think she would switch to a different label if this happened.. Thats impossible. She made Million of money out of her top 4 hits and diturbia is number 1 on the charts right now. This is some bullshit that a very smart hater wrote. Remover this shit. Its not true.
I would think if someone in this position was making a statement like this, she’d be on top of her spelling/grammar. Where did she leave this statement, on a bathroom wall somewhere?
August 19th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
who cares? she can’t sing, i don’t think she deserves even $20,000.00 for the garbage she puts out.
August 20th, 2008 at 2:15 pm
New York Major..maybe Rihanna cant change to a different label because of something called a contract??
On your point about it being too detailed…thats the whole point..its thats detailed because its true..if someone fabricated that then they must be reallly good..
Of coz Rihanna and her ppl will deny all this when they hear its out..who would admit to being broke and almost always getting dropped by their label for bad sales? Her album sales are NOT doing that great..only the singles..look it up.
August 20th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
“I would think if someone in this position was making a statement like this, she’d be on top of her spelling/grammar. Where did she leave this statement, on a bathroom wall somewhere?”
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you the pot or the kettle?
August 20th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
New York Major don’t get your panties in such a bunch. This sort of situation has happened to bigger and better artists than Rihanna. If Rihanna had been a successful artist say 20 or 30 years ago she’d be swimming in cash, but the music business has changed…dramatically…in the past 20 years and record companies don’t spend much on artist development anymore. A musician who doesn’t plow the money they make back into their own careers will not make it. Rihanna is just pissed because she wasn’t looped in on who was spending the money and how - she seems to think that the hundreds of thousands of dollars it takes to keep the “Rihanna” machine running should be coming from somewhere else…sorry to say but there is no such thing as a free lunch. She’s been footing the bills and rightfully so…she’s got to pay her dues just like any other successful artist these days. All she really needs to do is take control over the spending of her money (she needs to authorize all expenses) slow down on the video production (or at least reduce production costs) and be thankful that she’s got an opportunity to make a million a year when she’s really still just a baby in this industry.
August 20th, 2008 at 3:57 pm
Remember TLC? Sold over 10 million copies worldwide of their Crazysexycool album and filed for bankruptcy. I remember TLC giving an interview that their record company used all the money the album made on expenses like video shoots, travel fees, wardrobe etc. Same for Toni Braxton. This type of stuff shouldn’t be surprising but it’s a harsh lesson that a lot of young artists are still learning the hard way.
August 20th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
Its true. She’s not broke but she ain’t as wealthy as people would think. It happens all the time in pop music. You all seemed shocked.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:13 pm
Why is it so hard to believe? People who are way more famous and richer than her have filed for bankruptcy. She is in the music industry it’s not like a movie. They spend spend spend on everything! I believe all of that!
August 20th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
If it happened to TLC and Toni Braxton, it can happen to Rihanna. I remember just 10 years ago that a CD with 150K first week sales was considered a flop. Now that is just enough to make you #1 for the week if nothing else is out. That should show you how dramatically different the music industry has changed.
She can’t sell albums, and if she does, it’s not like she is a writer who is in control of her publishing royalties. If you count how many writers on her album wrote her songs (that don’t even include her), you can see how she is broke. Writers and Producers get paid first.
The record label is like a bank, they’ll give you money for videos and production costs, but you eventually have to pay them back. It’s like a loan of sorts. And if you don’t return on their investment (a CD that at least is triple platinum in the USA) then you are not profitable to them.
Poor girl used a Soft Cell sample for SOS and I’m sure that they also had to get royalties off the song too.
And The Dream got PAID off of Umbrella.
Why do you think Beyonce and her Wig Crypt are always making money? She makes it a point to get her name in the production credits for EVERY song on her CD. Hence why she makes money.
Rihanna needs to really start hustling more and investing her money more wisely. Also, she should really focus on putting out more cohesive albums that sell more. Her singles run the gamut of all types of genres and while that may be good for being playing on multi-radio formats, in the age of Itunes it doesn’t compell audiences of different genres to buy a full length album.
That’s why she is a singles artist.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Rhianna has a great voice and a good work ethic, but, as a whole package she lacks maturity. Some of her lyrics are so retarded, like the song where she compares cheating to being a murderer, it makes no sense. That’s why no one buys her albums. She comes off as a melodramatic self-important wannabe who just isn’t an artist.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:29 pm
Put it this way, Def Jam has done the following to make me believe this story:
Dropped Christina Milian for poor sales.
Dropped Tierra Marie for poor sales.
Dropped Foxy Brown (TWICE!) for poor sales.
Stopped promotion on Janet’s 2nd Def Jam album after “Rock Wit You” wasn’t a hit.
What makes Rihanna so special? I can fully believe she used her own money to get where she is because SHE DOESNT SELL ALBUMS. Her last album may have sold 5.3 million. But that wasn’t only in the US. That was world wide.
How much marketing and promotion and traveling was done to make her visible to a world wide market? Now add that cost to paying off writers, producers, music video directors, and the record label. And take the sales from her CD and subtract her cut, and then apply that to her outstanding debt.
You will see homegirl is not rich at all.
August 20th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
I believe this story because we have seen it happen so many times. If she signed a bad deal and doesn’t sell on top of it, this is not an outlandish story at all. What I don’t understand what is the difference in the pay structure for artists when you sell overseas vs. in the US?
August 20th, 2008 at 6:50 pm
Man she aint broke as long as she’s wit da ROC J gotta her…
August 20th, 2008 at 7:06 pm
Even if she had better sales she’d still be broke the way this money is getting spent. You fail to remember that recording artists make close to nothing from their record sales in the first place. Def Jam is terrible anyway. They’ve forsaken numerous artist that made them what they are today in the first place…
August 20th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
I agree with New York Major. Sorry but, even if this is true a real professional would NEVER spill this much private info. This is either a very unprofessional money manager who, then, likely is at fault for what happened to Rihanna’s money, or as NYM astutely surmises, it’s the work of the hatingest hater on the web. Both are possible. You can’t tell from the shitty quality of people’s comments on message boards, but the WWW is actually filled with technically sophisticated fake-outs.
August 20th, 2008 at 8:57 pm
sounds like rihanna is funding herself 99%, so why does she even need a record company syphoning from her, seems like they dont want to pay for anything, but want to collect, i feel terribly for this young girl, she needs better management, she needs to know what is going on (read and have it explained) and to look for a new record company, and have a good good lawyer. Ignorance is not an excuse, read rihanna read.
August 20th, 2008 at 9:02 pm
how the hell is britney a multi millionaire still to this day?? she has not come up with anything i still dont get that, i know there was virtually no promotion for the zone, but it did sell well, could someone explain???
August 20th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
@Turedaty:
Britney has loads of die-hard fans that will buy any album with her name on it. These fans are my age (22) but began following her when they were tweens and her music matured as they did, from bubblegum pop when they were 14 to club music for their early 20’s. At least that’s what I think. I don’t even consider myself a huge Britney fan but I bought her first album and I bought her last album (I’m sure I missed a few in between). I think a lot of this has to do with what B above said about Rihanna’s songs being all over the place. Britney’s songs are just more consistent. Because of this, her album did well (IN SPITE of her). If she would have promoted better (or at all), I’m sure Gimme More, Piece of Me, and Break the Ice (I freakin love that song, but it got barely any play) would have been WAY bigger than anything Rihanna’s done post-Umbrella.
August 20th, 2008 at 11:01 pm
oh well… i never liked her cocky attitude or her shitty music. i think this is karma…
August 20th, 2008 at 11:56 pm
Turedaty, Britney toured & filled big stadiums back in her day. That’s how singers make their money. Rihanna has never toured like that or sold the way Britney did. Like someone else said Rihanna is a singles artist. Britney sold full cds and concert tickets. That’s the difference the two. Not to mention Britney has a fan base that love them some Britney. I admit it, I bought a couple of her cds too. At one time she was it.
August 21st, 2008 at 1:01 am
at least she’s got a rich boyfriend.
August 21st, 2008 at 2:51 am
Karma! that’s funny! these so-called less talented artists think it’s all about them. they need to start showing a little more appreciation for their fans that they thank on stage and then don’t want to be bothered when someone ask for their damn autograph. bow down to the ones that got your ass living that luxurious life!
August 21st, 2008 at 3:03 am
i agree wit u daddy’s girl they have stank atts when they are not in front of a camera and alwayz thanking fans and they don’t give a damn about the fans it’s about vacation in cabo and paris and jet skiis and private plans living the life . get ur ass on tour and meet your fans and interact.
August 21st, 2008 at 4:10 am
i believed it when i heard cuz i realize rihanna was changing for a while now. i suspected the reason why she now bares all in her performances is to get attention as a result of ppl loosing interest in her. if rihanna kept her initial image she wld have failed as an artist. these things come with fame. maybe yall should listen to question existing. wasnt written by her but for her. rihanna spends alot of money on unnecessary things. she has this believe foundation to help sick kids yet spends over 100,000.00 at a time on jewellery for chris. what ppl dont realize is that it doesnt matter how much money u makeu can go broke easily b/c the bigger ur lifestyle gets the more u want for urself. its human nature. and this is not fake. the accountant was actually fired and she sd this. rihanna wrote none of her songs and will get no money unless she performs live. everyone knows the songwriters make the money. seems the good girl gained nothing from going bad. real shocker.
August 21st, 2008 at 4:56 am
Great article! Rihanna is talented and now she has a big enough name so she should be raking it in now, as long as she stays grounded she’ll be good.
August 21st, 2008 at 6:57 pm
Im going to go ahead and agree with mdj
it is sad, i dont know if the girl was stealing (but) there is no way in hell u can steal so much where she only has 20k left.
rihanna prolly didnt have a clue, she cant sing and it only makes sense. good story guys
keep us,,,me lat least, updated
August 21st, 2008 at 11:34 pm
thats what happens when u wear armani to versace in a single outfit. that stuff costs money riri!!! and them vacations and shopping in italy??? well then…i guess u ain’t all that yet mami.
August 22nd, 2008 at 1:04 am
this sounds similar to what happened to tlc…hopefully rihanna will bounce back and make the money she deserves. she’s a talented artist with a great sense of style and self awareness. a real role model compared to other acts her age.
August 22nd, 2008 at 3:08 am
THANK YOU SO MUCH “BlissfulGirl” for stating the FACTS of the music industry so eloquently! It’s reality, young artist need to learn from their predecessors mistakes & manage their own finances. Even if this takes studying courses in Business Management, they should do this. It benefits them and their families.
She needs to learn the golden rules “business before pleasure” and “never mix business with pleasure”…
August 22nd, 2008 at 4:17 am
she is seen as unapproachable alaways talkin bout how she wants her privacy and shit. well guess what if people dont feel they know you in this day and age they have no loyalty towards you. Thats why Mariah and Beyonce are so rich cause they are actually talented!
August 22nd, 2008 at 6:08 am
Shorty got talent! she just need to get on the tour circuit…she needs to do a B and start doing World Tours…Jay should be schoolin her on that…you know he schoolin B making sure that money and them checks keep comin. If you think Papa Knowles is running B’s career think again…just look at Michelle, Kelly and anyone else he has under his management company even Solo…They ain’t doing no where near what B’s doing. Jigga man is definitely running things in the carter household and he’s definitely the one pulling the strings as far as B’s concern. Check it! Forbes - he made 82mill and she made 80 mill ..uh huh - nuff said!
August 22nd, 2008 at 2:03 pm
While this story may not be COMPLETELY true, it is not TOTALLY impossible. Some of you truly believe that being a singer automatically makes you some millionaire. Like so many have said before, TLC and Toni Braxton are great examples of artists who had big hits and big albums and were still left broke at the end of the day. It takes more than releasing an album to make money these days. You HAVE to tour, you HAVE to get writing credits, and You HAVE to get production credits. A lot of people have a lot of bad things to say about Beyonce, however, this chick knows the business and knows how to her share. Now Rihanna has a pretty good endorsement with CoverGirl, but that still doesn’t make her rich. She is still fairly new to the industry and she needs to establish herself a little more in order to get the big endorsements and the big checks that go with those endorsements.
August 22nd, 2008 at 6:53 pm
I’m glad so many of you are sane enough to see this is probably true. I think Sunshine said
“oh well… i never liked her cocky attitude or her shitty music. i think this is karma…”
That’s it in a nutshell…cause there is nothing special about her at all. Autotune has made stars out of people who CANNOT sing. I could care less about how she looks. Looks fade..and “acting” like a star is when you’ve done nothing to earn it deserves this result.
August 23rd, 2008 at 12:13 am
Why I am not suprised, it can happen to the best of us.
August 23rd, 2008 at 2:32 am
I’m repeating some things that have already been said, but having some experience as a concert organizer in college, I can verify that most successful artists make their money from touring heavily. Why? Because all proceeds are paid to the artist directly (or the limited liability company set up to receive funds in the artists name). However, the artist is then responsible for the salaries of all tour employees, their travel, and their upkeep — which can easily eat up a payment which is not based on the house sales (it sounds like Rihanna was being paid a flat fee for her appearances, which is very common for college shows, but not the best way for artists to make money).
Most musicians barely make a 30% cut off their recording earnings, and for many years, artists made less money off “experimental” recording technologies (such as CDs). I’ve not followed the business side of the music industry for some time, but in the late 90s, record companies could pay artists less for CDs than for records and tapes (which, by that time, had nearly disappeared from the mass market). Led Zeppelin was the exception to the rule, commanding something like 70% share of every album sold.
In addition, as others have said, the real money in a song is not who sings it — but who owns the publishing rights as the songwriter. It is the publisher who receives a majority residual for songs used in commercials, and companies can easily pay another person to sing a song just as long as the songwriter is paid for use, cutting out the artist which popularized the song.
Oftentimes, the biggest mistake artists make is that they accept all legal and financial advice from their record company, instead of retaining independent accountants and attorneys. While I’m sure all parties involved had nothing but the best intentions towards Rihanna’s career, it sounds like many of the managers were servants to two masters, the artist and the company — and in that situation, the more disposable of the two always loses.
August 23rd, 2008 at 3:33 am
“Def Jam’s President LA Reid was livid!”
All I had to see was LA Reid’s name and immediatley thought “shister”. TLC and Toni Braxton dealt with LA Reid (LaFace Records) etc. and they both went bankrupt.
That explains everything now. TLC was ignorant about the music business, they were young and got bamboozled. Now its happening to Rihanna. She is not business savy and if she thinks that her label is backing her and looking out for her, then she has another thing coming. They look at her and see dollar signs if she is selling. If not, then they don’t want to be bothered and on to the next big potential money maker.
Rihanna needs to smarten up real quick, go back to school or something. If she really is broke, then she needs to come back stronger and manage her finances a little better. If Jay-Z was as good as a mentor like she said he was, then he should’ve warned her about such matters. But he is our for himself and his own just like everyone else. Look what he did to Damon Dash.
Looks like she learned the hard way. The music industry is a cut throat business.
August 23rd, 2008 at 4:04 am
They all shisters as you put Rachel…they all out for self. la reid busy throwing his fat ass son a party that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars teaching him to be selfish and self righteous…ur right look at jay…damon dash is going broke behind on mortgage payment what is that?
August 23rd, 2008 at 6:27 am
Hmm…. I only have on thing to say about this, okay maybe a couple -
All the better to become an Actress then a Singer. Tougher to “break-in,” yes. But at least all (or most of) your earned moneys don’t get tossed all around through different channels.
There’s an old saying about the music biz, “You make a million today, You put out two million tomorrow.” Only the most business savoy make it without threading on that, “I’m almost broke” line. I don’t know a whole lot about Rihanna, but I will tell you one thing. If she DOESN’T write or produce her OWN material, she will NEVER make a bundle.
Sorry kiddies, but that’s the music business for ya.
August 23rd, 2008 at 7:46 am
I guess that’s why she’s letting Chris write her songs now. Can’t afford Neyo anymore so she has to roll with Chris where she gets a bust it baby discount.
August 23rd, 2008 at 10:27 am
……….
August 23rd, 2008 at 10:32 am
I mean honestly it could happen to anyone. It may not be as bad as people are making it. At the same time she seem like she has a funky attitude. Yeah I dont know her but she always has the mean mug on ya dig. I mean she can never be as big as a Beyonce because she act like she has no class. And her stage performance is THE WORST EVER. Even Beyonce when around her fans will hand out hug or a hello, Rihanna act like she dont want to be bothered and she not big enough to be doing that yet. So maybe this will bring her back to reality. But she can get back on her feet. But she gotta be a little more friendly. Even Chris Brown interacts with his fans, she acts like an ass yo. STAMPED
August 23rd, 2008 at 5:03 pm
I think it’s such a shame that the industry is allowed to take advantage of young kids like this. The only reason celebs like Usher, etc. have done so well is because they have a TRUSTED family member managing them. I believe problems like this might explain why the label didn’t want to renew Jay-Z’s contract. I think you silly little haters should shut up! Regardless of singing/dancing ability, that poor girl has been working around the clock, far more hours than you or I put in, and she deserves to be paid for it!
On a side note:
The author should really learn grammatical etiquette!
Please, if you are to be a professional writer learn the difference between there, their, and they’re!
August 23rd, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Isn’t it cute that someone chastising others about their lack of “grammatical etiquette” (lol ??? huh?) would precede it with “you silly little haters”?
Maybe you should refresh your database with the current slang. You know.. from THIS century?
August 23rd, 2008 at 9:54 pm
Sorry WOW I don’t speak idiot! Perhaps I chose that method rather than calling them brainless inbreeds . . oh my mistake, that comment was for you. As far as my database is concerned, 30 is the new 30 not 20, so I’ll leave that slang for you children, and prefer to act my age.
August 24th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
ok…I donno wuts going on but Rihanna need to get everything straighten out…I think too much of vacationing, shopping and well everybody around $$ takes $$…weather they wnt too or not! THE FIRST DAMN THING SHE SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN SUMONE SHES KNOWS AS HER MONEY HOLDER!!
August 24th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
i’m so sorry for here but what can i do
August 25th, 2008 at 8:09 am
Cute and Sexy! I lov u Rihanna…
August 25th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
Lol wow….so wat should she do now??!?
August 26th, 2008 at 1:18 am
It could happen to anyone. Gary Coleman, TLC, TONI BRAXON, B2K, RIHANNA, it could happen to anyone. Young people need to wake up. And be careful with their money.
August 26th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
We should learn from our mistakes and other people’s mistakes cause we wont live long enough to do all the mistakes ourselves. Rihanna and all the other young artist ought to learn from the lot that are mentioned like TLC,Toni Braxton,B2K, and even Michael Jackson! She has to see what she can do to get her ass on the spin again and know what goes where if need be give beyonce a bell and meet her up she can give her some tips she’s got from Jigga Man, Jay-Z is a true Guru in the music boardroom
August 28th, 2008 at 6:20 pm
Happygolucky
You rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love ya
August 29th, 2008 at 2:08 am

i feel sorry for her i thought she was loaded because of all the hit singles shes had over the years its too bad.i can understand why her lable didnt want to fund anything she did because of her sales.i think thats why her and chris brown are so close now,he just wanted to help her threw the rough patch she was in.i hope she strikes gold soon but if i waz her manager i would be not only spending her money on just her singing carrer i would have set her up so she would have a clothing line, and owns some type off business as a back-up-plan for her if he knew that she was had to spend her money like wild fire.he should have had a little bit of her money spreaded out properly and wisely so she would have a back up plan

Deecember 18. Rihanna has quickly developed into one of R&B’s biggest stars. She has a refreshing mix of innocence and sex appeal that most people find alluring. But MediaTakeOut.com has learned that the innocence part may just be an act.
In an exclusive interview, MediaTakeOut.com spoke with one of Rihanna’s childhood friends who opened up about the teen’s wild past. Our source, who grew up with Rihanna in Barbados, claims that the teenage Rihanna was a regular at the local nightclubs. The tipster tells, “she was in the club underage, trying to get with older guys … [but] it hardly ever worked because she had horrible skin.”
And Rihanna apparently wouldn’t let school get in the way of all her partying. According to our source, the teenage sensation skipped school so frequently that she was forced to repeat both the 8th and 9th grades.
But the most startling revelation that the pal told MediaTakeOut.com was that Rihanna had a reputation for sleeping with other women’s boyfriends. The friend tells, “A lot of people hated and despised Rihanna. In 2004 she got into a fight at Janine [LAST NAME WITHHELD]’s house because they found out Rihanna slept with her boyfriend.”
And Rihanna’s apparent habit for stealing boyfriends may have destroyed one of her closest friendships. The friend explains, “Rihanna had a best friend named Kelenna [LAST NAME WITHHELD]. Rihanna deceived her friend by having sex with Kelenna’s boyfriend named ‘Ghetto’. Bear in mind [that] Rihanna was barely even 16. This is why to this day, Rihanna and Kelenna do not speak.”
This isn’t the first time that we’ve heard about Rihanna’s boyfriend-stealing ways. Earlier this year, MediaTakeOut.com reported that Beyonce was worried that Rihanna was getting uncomfortably close to Jay Z.
And according to Rihanna’s former pal, Beyonce has a lot to worry about. The friend explains, “I believe to this day that [Rihanna] forced herself on Jay Z because she is extremely promiscuous … Old habits never die.”
Developing…

Oh my i’m in two minds here i guess anyone who had a rough childhood of wanting things that she would never dream of having today would act like rihanna inspite of all old habits that her friends from barbados can say about her everyone deserves a second chance GOD FORGIVES ALL OF US FOR OUR SINS so whatever rihanna did in the past is forgotten she’s a new person now if ever she should fall on her four limbs she sure knows how to get back up because she already knows how it is at the top of the ladder it will be even easier to do it a second time without stress.
don’t be so hard on her she’s alone in the US i’m proud of her i’m from the caribbean and i know for sure that she’s a role model for lots of kids in the west indies. we caribbean women are strong and we overcome all problems tell me who can adapt as fast as she did in the US music industry like rihanna she did great work and i’m sure that she’s not broke she has savings she must, because she knows what it feels like to have the minimum of confort.
an advice rihanna try to invest your money in appartments buy a piece of land and build a three storey building with at least six appartments and rent them you don’t need to have it on your name for privacy reasons use ur mom’s name for example.
i know that u want to be more beautiful than u are but clothes and all the rest are just material stuff think wise invest in things that bring back the money to you.
ps; you sure know how to dress i love your style

I work for a record label and unfortuneately this is true for many artist, interscope records looks for indirect ways to fund the artist project just as Rihanna and her management did for her through endorsements. trust me, your better off breaking independently with a hit then going from there. record labels are only good for putting tangible cd’s on the shelf at Wal mart, target etc. Even then you can do that yourself after you break a hit and re invest in putting product on the shelves. digital distribution, radio, marketing and publicity are easy as pie to do now without the major labels. it is not hard to get Wal mart, target or best buy to put your product on the shelf if you have a hit. rihanna should leave the label and sell her own records and so should Snoop and many other establish acts if they can break away from their contracts. by the way rihanna’s situation is true, i know her management marc and A&R jay Brown, and lawyer Scott. sad but she’ll be alright. hopefully they don’t see I wrote this and confirmed her situation. doubt they will.

What these naive kids don’t understand that at the end of the day, this is the nature of the business so if you don’t know the game then this is what happens.

Rihanna, you have truly put Barbados on the map and made all Caribbean people feel proud with your achievements. Your songs are still at the top in many countries of the world and the royalties will continue to pour in. Be careful, don’t waste any more money on lavish videos. A basic video is good enough, a strong tune will sell itself. Touring is vital; come to the UK where girls from 5 to 15 years of age look up to you. Pray to God for wisdom before you take any future steps. I love you and wish you all the best.
