“SOUL MEN” CURSE?

Morgan Freeman almost dies in a car crash. Bernie Mac dies. Issac Hayes dies. There seems to be a pattern here where older Black men are dropping like flies!

Issac Hayes (RIP) and Bernie Mac (RIP) both star in the upcoming film “Soul Men” The film is about two former backup soul singers Louis (Samuel L. Jackson) and Floyd (Bernie Mac) travel cross country to perform at a tribute concert in honor of their famous former band leader.
They haven’t spoken to each other in 20 years but reluctantly agree to travel together for the tribute performance. Both Jackson and Mac will do their own musical and dance performing in the film.

Jackson should hope everything doesn’t happen in threes!

DISNEY’S “FROG PRINCESS” BACKLASH!

Originally called The Frog Princess, its heroine was to be a chambermaid called Maddy working for a spoilt white debutante in 1920s New Orleans.

But it sparked a backlash from critics who claimed it reinforced prejudice and demeaned black people.

As a result the title of the musical, which has yet to be released, was changed to The Princess and The Frog and the princess will now be called Tiana!

[the real question critics should ask is why is the film drawn in classic animation?! So 1990's!]

ICE CUBE’S “JANKY” SPEC

In a preemptive spec deal, Dimension Films has acquired “Janky Promoters,” the first script that Ice Cube has written since the final installment of his “Friday” series. Cube will star in the film and produce with Cube Vision partner Matt Alvarez.
