‘AKEELAH’ STAR TO PLAY ROXANNE SHONTAE!
Joining the budding Keke Palmer in the role of Roxanne Shante in the upcoming indie film about the hip hop’s Juice Crew will be Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. as founder/producer Marley Marl, rapper David Banner as Biz Markie and Diana Ross’ son Evan Ross as MC Shan, reports blackfilm.com.
Also joining the cast is Idris Elba as Tyrone “Fly Ty” Williams and our fav Jackie Long as Mr. “Smooth Operator,” Big Daddy Kane. It’s about time someone did a movie about hip-hop/urban world in the 80’s!
