Of course they still exist and will continue to until the Black community as a whole deals with the pains of our past and finds unity. I can easily see us getting worse in the long run if things don’t improve; parents need to change so they can teach their children to change as well. Our black family is a mess and it doesn’t have to be! That movie is right on and still one of the best that shows the probs of our many shades of blackness….

No, I think they want you to understand that you light skin and their preference for it is a form of self hate.
These men prefer you because inwardly, they do not believe their own skin color is beautiful. Therefore, they do not believe women who also have that dark color are as beautiful as you.
It is like people who get Stockholm Syndrome (look it up) We are victims of 300 years of identifying with our oppressors.

and that is the problem that too many of our own don’t take the time to educate our brothers and sister; they just throw their hands up and say, ‘WHY AM I WASTING MY TIME; YOU WON’T UNDERSTAND.’ This is why they don’t understand, no one is taking the time to teach them… SMH cause it is only my thought.

Black people are always complaining about how the white man discriminates against them based on color but we do the same thing to each other. Now, how ignorant is that!!! Light skinned blacks are blinded by their lightness and dark skinned blacks are bittered by their darkness….everyone needs to wake the fuck up and stop being such a cotton pickin slave!!!
